A few things: First of all, today is my birthday and this is what I wish I were wearing! I have always loved a good black and white ensemble (especially with a touch of red), so this just seems so wildly appropriate for the day in which I celebrate my anniversary with myself. My family is driving up to have dinner with me today, and yesterday I had dinner and cake with a group of my friends. Last weekend I went up to Russian River with a few girlfriends, where we stayed in an amazing house. We had a hot tub evening and then a day filled with ice cream, brunch, and river swimming. Needless to say, I prefer to call it a birthweek rather than a birthday, because that’s how I celebrate it.

You’ve probably noticed things have been pretty quiet around here, which is due to a lot of changes in life! This week, I am having my last day at my work, I’m moving out, and on Monday I am heading to European for a backpacking trip. I think this is what they call a midlife crisis! In any case, though I’m a little nervous and scared, I’m also really excited…and very, very busy. Seriously guys, I really underestimated how much effort moving would entail. I mean I was planning to go to Disneyland this weekend too, before my Eurotrip and after moving out. Now that that plan has been struck down, I don’t know where I would’ve found the time to move if I went to Disneyland this weekend.

Basically, this is a “bare with me!” as well as a “BRB.” Things have been slow here and will continue to be slow for a few more weeks…but I will be back, promise. Luff you!

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

I'm obsessed with my new T/F bag, which I got at LuckyFABB. The pin is my addition.  Eating healthy. I'm on a big healthy kick right now as I prep for swim season, haha. I love salad with almonds and ginger dressing...yum!   Picking flowers. Seriously, this is my new hobby now that spring's come around.   My new Yosi Samra flats...so comfortable, and another spoil from LuckyFABB.   Pumpkin pancakes, because I have to reward myself for being so healthy every so often!   My Puppy, always. Sorry updates have been so slow around here lately. I've been doing a lot of shoots and travel, but have also been suffering from some body image issues and lack of wardrobe inspiration. A closet refresh is definitely in order soon! Be sure to keep up with me on Instagram though!

I Want to Live Here

The older I get, the more I consider home decor alongside bodily decor (clothes, I mean!). As of right now I live in a five bedroom Victorian house with four other people, and I just don't have the budget to decorate, especially in such a large space. But that doesn't mean that I don't dream...and pin.

Years ago my pins consisted of airy white, black and gold spaces, which we all know is very in vogue these days, but the funny thing is my actual decor has always been vintage-inspired, colorful and warm. Those all white spaces, while they look pretty, don't just look impractical, but also just look so cold! These days, I'm shifting towards a mix of vintage and boho home spaces, and the era of my vintage inspiration is shifting from over-the-top French inspired furniture (I am Egyptian, after all) to smaller, sleeker shapes from the 60s. Hopefully one day I'll have the space, time, and money to take this vision and make it a reality. In the meantime, let's all just enjoy this pinspiration.

The only room I have been able to dedicate some time and money to in my house is my own room, of course. I really only decorated half of it before I ran out of steam and money. Really, it's a work in progress. I am very particular about what I bring into it, and much of it is vintage,  purchased via Craigs List, garage sales, flea markets, and thrift stores. Naturally, it's been a slow process. I'll take some photos and show you guys sometimes :)
